Remembering Self-Care:

Self-Care Tips and Resources this Nurses Month

Being a nurse requires consistently caring for others and paying close attention to the physical and mental state of patients. Selflessly showing up for others is an incredible task, but often, those closest to the health care system are at the highest risk of burnout.

The ANA and Capella University invite you to explore ways you can prioritize self-care this nurse’s month (and every month) so that you can continue to make a difference without sacrificing your well-being.

Self-Care Tip #1
Start with Today

Don’t overthink it. Self-care can start at any time, all it takes is a step in the right direction. Here are some self-care ideas to consider this week.

Give Yourself a Break

Reduce stress with simple activites like exercise, yoga, taking a walk... even daydreaming.

Take Care of your Daily Health First

Eat right. Sleep more. Drink water. Stay connected.

Make Time for the Things You Love

Whether it's sports, art, music, or reading, give yourself the gift of your favorite activites.

Be Strong Enough to Find Support

Ask someone for help and share your feelings.

“Taking care of your health makes a big difference in the way that you provide care for others. I feared that going to a traditional school would not allow me to both maintain my health while progressing in my career. But finding FlexPath was like a breath of fresh air because I was able to do my studies from home and still obtain my degree.”
